UGC NET JULY 2018 NOTIFICATION CHANGES:

1. PAPER-III Eliminated. Now total marks of examination 300

2. Importance of PAPER-I. Last year its marks 100 out of 350. Means weightage 100/350 = 28.57. Now weightage 100/ 300 = 33.33 means 33.33-28.57= 4.76 mens 4.76 ×3 = 14.28. Roughly 15 marks weightage increased.

3. For JRF GENRAL AGE IS 30 years AND  35  YEARS for OBC-NCL.

4. PAPER-II is combination of previous PAPER-II AND PAPER-III  syllabus.

1. Good news for science students. As we know last year November 2017 paper I was tought. Specially apptitute and reasoning questions more tough. That’s main reason of falling cutoff marks overall November 2017 resultö. Now weightage of Paper-I increase. So it would give more beneficial.

UGC NET JULY 2018 NOTIFICATION OUT COMPLETE DETAIL:

  • Examination date 8th july (sunday ). CBSE will conduct NET in 84 subjects (listed under item no.14 on page 11) at 91 selected Cities of Examination (listed under item no.15 on page 13).
  • All candidates must have master degree with 55% marks. 5% relaxation to obc/sc/st/ph etc. Candidates.
  • AGE LIMIT & RELAXATION:
    I. Junior Research Fellowship: Not more than 30 years as on 01.07.2018. A relaxation up to 5 years is provided to candidate belonging to OBC (Non- creamy layer, as per theCentral list of OBC available on website: www.ncbc.nic.in ) SC/ ST/ PwD /Transgender categories and to women’s.

II.Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit for applying for eligibility for Assistant Professor.

UGC NET EXAMINATION FEE AND MODE OF PAYMENT:
General :  1000 Rs.

Backward Classes (Non-creamy layer): 500 Rs.

SC/ST/PwD/ Trs: 250 Rs.

Examination fee by online mode, credit/debit card or by challan form.

UGC NET NEW EXAM SCHEME AND DATE OF TEST:

The Test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of only objective type
questions and will be held on 08th July, 2018 (SUNDAY) in two separate sessions as under:

Paper First I 100 marks  50 questions all are compulsory
Time: 1 Hour (09:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.).

Paper Second II 200 marks 100 questions all are compulsory
2 Hours (11:00 A.M. to 01:00 P.M.).

Paper-I shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks. The questions which will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent
thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
Paper-II shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate. All the questions of Paper II will be compulsory, covering entire syllabi of earlier Paper II & Paper III (including all electives, without options).
The candidate will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper I & Paper II on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Sheet provided along with the test booklet.The detailed instruction for filling up the OMR sheet are given on page 16 and 17. It may be noted that these instructions to candidates will not be sent to any of the candidate by post.

UGC NET JULY 2018 NOTIFICATION PROCEDURE & CRITERIA FOR DECLARATION OF RESULT:

This will comprise of following steps:
Step I: The number of candidates to be qualified (total slots) for Eligibility for Assistant Professor shall be equal to 6% of the candidates appeared in both the papers of NET.
Step II: The total slots shall be allocated to different categories as per the reservation policy of
Government of India.
Step III: In order to be consider for Both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Assistant Professor and for Eligibility for Assistant Professor Only , the candidate must have appeared in both the papers and secured at least 40% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for General (Unreserved) category candidates and at least 35% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for all candidates belonging to the reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC (belonging to Non-Creamy Layer) & PWD).
Step IV: The number of candidates to be declared qualified in any subject for a particular category is derived as per the following methodology illustrated below:

UGC NET JULY 2018 NOTIFICATION SUBJECT & SYLLABUS OF TEST: All questions of Paper II will be
compulsory, covering entire syllabus of earlier Paper – II & Paper III (including all electives, without options). Syllabi for all NET subjects can be downloaded from the UGC websitewww.ugc.ac.in/net/syllabus.aspx and are also available in the libraries of all Indian Universities. CBSE will not send the syllabus to individual
candidates.
